PlusOne App: A Friendly Way to Find Your Event Companion

I created PlusOne, a virtual matching platform designed with empathy, simplicity, and modern social behavior in mind. The app connects users who are looking for a plus one to casual events without romantic pressure—whether it's a plus one for a wedding, a trivia night partner, or someone to hit a festival with.

  • Brand Identity: I developed a fresh and friendly visual identity for PlusOne, with a warm, optimistic color palette and a rounded sans-serif wordmark to signal approachability and comfort.
  • UX Research & User Flow: Initial surveys and informal interviews informed the app's core features: simple onboarding, preference filtering (event type, availability, vibe), and secure profile verification. I mapped user flows to prioritize intuitive navigation and low-friction matching.
  • Wireframes & UI Design: I sketched wireframes and translated them into mid- and high-fidelity prototypes using a mobile-first approach. Key screens included:
    • Event type selection
    • Match browsing and filtering
    • Messaging interface
    • RSVP and scheduling features
  • Video Prototype: To bring the experience to life, I created a walkthrough video prototype showcasing the app's core flows. This allowed for visual storytelling that demonstrated both usability and the emotional tone of the brand.

The Outcome

PlusOne was well-received in peer reviews for its thoughtful UX and brand consistency. The final prototype communicated a clear product vision and demonstrated my ability to bring a project from concept to high-fidelity execution. It also strengthened my skills in user-centered design, mobile UI systems, and rapid prototyping.
